Certified or notarized bank statements for use abroad

We coordinate the apostille of U.S. bank statements and account statements for procedures abroad such as visas, residency, inheritances or property purchases. Since a statement downloaded from the internet cannot always be apostilled as is, we first review your document and tell you what preliminary step it needs.

Bank statement apostille
What it's for

What are apostilled bank statements used for?

Bank statements and account statements are requested abroad for visas, residency, inheritance processes, property purchases or to prove available funds. For international use they usually require an apostille to confirm the document's origin.

We work with statements from banks and financial institutions across the United States, coordinating the certification or notarization and the apostille according to the state and destination country.

Before the apostille

Key points about apostilling a bank statement

A statement downloaded from the internet cannot always be apostilled as is; a preliminary step is often needed before it qualifies.

A downloaded PDF isn't always apostillable

A statement downloaded from the internet cannot always be apostilled directly; it may first need to be certified or notarized.

Bank letter or certification

A letter or certification issued by the bank confirming the account or balance may be required before the apostille.

Bank officer's signature / notarization

The signature of a bank officer or the notarization of a statement may be required so the document can be apostilled.

Certified copy and state authentication

Depending on the state and the destination country, a certified copy and additional state authentication may be required.

Good to know

How to get it ready

Notarized or certified document

The notarized or bank-certified document is what gets apostilled — not simply a screen printout.

Certified copy

When it applies, a certified copy is prepared so the state can authenticate and apostille it.

Translation

If the destination country requires it, we coordinate a certified translation — before or after the apostille, depending on the case.

FAQ

Questions about apostilling a bank statement

Send us your document and the destination country, and we'll tell you exactly what it needs.

Can I apostille a PDF downloaded from the bank?+
Not always. A statement downloaded from the internet sometimes needs a certification from the bank or a notarization before it can be apostilled. We review your document and tell you which step applies.
What do I need from the bank?+
Depending on the case, a signed letter or certification issued by the bank may be required. We tell you what to request after reviewing your document.
Is it apostilled in the bank's state?+
It's apostilled according to where the document is notarized or certified, which is not always where you live. We confirm the correct state for your case.
Do I need the original?+
Send us a copy first so we can review it. We'll then tell you whether the original is needed and how to send it safely.
Does it include translation?+
Translation is a separate service. When the destination country requires it, we can coordinate a certified translation.
How long does it take?+
It depends on the state and the service option, and on any preliminary bank step. We give you an estimated time in your free review, and we handle expedited cases when possible.
