Colombia Digital Nomad Visa: Documents, Apostille and Requirements

Colombia's so-called Visa V for digital nomads lets foreign nationals live in Colombia while working remotely for companies or clients located abroad, without taking a job with a Colombian entity. Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cancillería) decides every application case by case and can request documents beyond what is described here, so this guide should always be paired with the checklist that is current on the day you file.
Colombia's Visa V Digital Nomad visa currently requires: passport from a nationality exempt from short-stay visas; remote work for one or more foreign companies, or an eligible digital entrepreneurship project; employment or business letter in Spanish or English; bank statements from the last 3 months; minimum income of 3 SMLMV; health insurance with coverage in Colombia; family relationship documents for beneficiaries, when applicable. Maximum validity: up to 2 years. Does not allow paid work for people or companies domiciled in Colombia.
